Often we mistake and make distinction of উ vs. ঊ or ু vs. ূ. However, in Assamese Phonetics, they actually have the same sound.
চ, ছ
Like "s" in `sam`
The sound of ছ in Assamese is not as strong as it is in other Indian languages. So the sound almost resembles that of চ
ট, ত
Like "t" in `Tom`
They have the same sound in Assamese.
ঠ, থ
Like "th" in `theory`
They have the same sound in Assamese.
ড, দ
Like "d" in `Dad`
They have the same sound in Assamese
ঢ, ধ
Like "dh" in `dharma`
They have the same sound in Assamese

Like "b" in `bow`
They SOMETIMES have the same sound in Assamese
