1. (Proper Noun-Neuter) The 'gayan-bayan' is a traditional performance of the Vaishnav Sattriya tradition. The singer is called 'gayan' and the instrument players are called 'bayan'. The singers use the middle sized cymbals-'tal' or 'patital'. The dancers and singers move, symbolising the movements of a snake.
