Language-Linguistics(Proper Noun-Neuter) In recent classifications, a large language family of continental Southeast Asia, also scattered throughout India, Bangladesh, and the southern border of China. The name Austroasiatic comes from the Latin words for `south` and `Asia`, hence `South Asia`.
